PASTE MODELLABILI FAI DA TE

English version

Leonardo me lo chiede praticamente ogni giorno :D!

Homemade play doughHow much do our munchkins love play dough? They’re just so into it! They use plenty of it. What if I told you that you can make homemade play dough in your kitchen with natural and non-toxic ingredients… Would you try the recipe?

That’s what I’m here for dearest moms. Today I wanna offer you the recipe of this homemade play dough. It’s natural, economic and it lasts even to a month. Here you will find other recipes of DIY modeling pastes that I collected for you, and an in-depth analysis on the importance of molding for our children.

Moreover, you’ll notice that this dough in particular has a wonderful consistency: soft to the touch and very moldable. Not to mention the fact that this homemade play dough is non-toxic, non-sticky and not dirty.

Moreover, since the ingredients are all natural, there is no danger if your little ones prepare a pizza and, driven by curiosity, taste a piece of it. In fact, this homemade play dough is completely edible, but certainly not to eat because of the great amount of salt.

In all cases, it is better to take a bite of this homemade play dough than to eat a shovel full of sand like my Leonardo did when he was one and a half year old on the beach! ^ – ^ Did your children eat sand in industrial quantities when they were little?

Anyway, if you are ready grab these ingredients and fasten your apron!

Ingredients:

  • 1 glass of flour

  • 1/2 glass of salt up

  • 1 teaspoon of cream of tartar

  • a teaspoon of seed oil

  • 1 glass of warm water

  • food coloring

You can also add a few drops of essential oil or natural flavors (such as vanillas) to perfume your dough.

As an alternative to cream of tartar you can use baking powder, baking soda, potato starch or 1 teaspoon and a half of lemon juice.

If you want you can also double the doses and prepare your homemade play dough. Then, add to each stick the color you want and your homemade play dough set is ready for your children to play with!

Instructions:

Pour all the ingredients in a bowl and mix until all is amalgamated. As soon as the mixture is compact and detached from the walls, work it with your hands to remove all the lumps. Et voila, the homemade play dough is ready for the little ones!

Warning: pay attention to the amount of water you pour, if you put too much the homemade play dough could be sticky.

Storage: once used you can store the homemade play dough in an airtight container and you will not even need to put it in the refrigerator, because it will be preserved very well.

Here you can find all the tools with whom the children can work the homemade play dough as molds, extruders, rolling pins and much more!

ADVANTAGES OF MARSHMALLOW MODELING PLAY DOUGH

There’s something else! Among the other advantages this marshmallow modeling play dough is edible, so the children of all ages can play with it.

If by chance, driven by curiosity, they decided to taste it they would not run any risk. Well, maybe you would, moms… you know that too much sugar excites our little ones, right? Which is why just use moderation… allow only a few bites ^ – ^

Also, if they’re dying to eat their delicious marshmallow modeling play dough, they can always use it to decorate a cake. Isn’t this a good idea? Preparing a cake with mom is always a pleasant activity, almost as much as tasting it in the good company of the whole family!

Why don’t you let them decorate the cake for their birthday? Think about when your munchkins, before blowing out the candles, will exclaim with pride in front of all their friends: “I did it!“.

I have collected for you some pictures of decorated cakes to inspire you. That of penguins is suitable for Leo who celebrates his birthday right on Christmas Eve ^ – ^! As you can see, the shapes are really simple to make for children:

LET’S PREPARE THE MARSHMALLOW MODELING PLAY DOUGH

At this point fasten your apron and go to your workshop: the kitchen! You will need only a few ingredients and a little water to make this modeling marshmallow dough.

Ingredients:

  • 5 oz. of marshmallow

  • 11,5 oz. of icing sugar

  • 2 tbsp of water

If you want your marshmallow modeling play dough to show off a bright color, add some food coloring or, for a softer color, pastel, use already colored marshmallows.

Instructions:

Pour the marshmallows into a glass bowl and place them in the microwave oven at high temperature for about a minute until they have melted. I recommend being careful not to cook them! Then, add the icing sugar and start mixing with an oily spoon of butter until you get your delicious marshmallow modeling play dough.

When you start working the marshmallow modeling play dough with your hands, grease them with a little butter… Hot sugar is very sticky ;)! The dough will be ready when it will no longer be stringy and will have the consistency of a dough. At that point add the food coloring and knead again until the mixture is homogeneous.

Warning: the marshmallows just come out of the microwave are nice warm, if there is a greedy desire to taste them do not put your finger inside, use a teaspoon and blow them over before savoring them! Bon appetite ^ – ^.

Preservation: you can keep the marshmallow modeling play dough wrapped in transparent film and store it in a cool and dry place for about a month… If you can not eat it all before ^ – ^!

Whatever will be the object created by your children you can dry it in the air, this way it will last for months. Here’s another very nice idea: the children can make placeholders or decorations for the Christmas tree or for Easter. They can give them to grandparents, uncles and little cousins as a present!

FREE WAY TO CREATIVITY
